Law vs the Grace of God

So much of the church world today thinks they are hearing the gospel in their church, but are they really? Many sermons concentrate on sin and how God hates sin. It’s as if they are trying to scare you into the Kingdom of God. Most churches hear about hell more than they do about heaven.
Rules and regulations are more talked about and dealt with than the true gospel. Much of this is the old covenant law repackaged and labeled Christian. So many people are still trying to work their way into heaven by all of the rules and works that they do. This is nothing more than trying to get into heaven by keeping the law.
Let me say this. You will not make it to heaven by keeping the law. Why? Because if you miss even just ONE law, you can’t go to heaven. James 2:10 says, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in ONE point, he is guilty of ALL!” [emphasis mine]
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, 8) “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. 9) Not of works, lest any man boast.” You are saved by Grace not works. You can’t do enough good to work your way into heaven. Jesus and faith in His work at the cross is the ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN.
I’ve heard people say that there are many ways to heaven. Actually, there are many ways to miss heaven, but only ONE way will get you to the Father and that is by grace, through faith in Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross!
John 14:6 says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”
Jesus’ sacrifice made the way to the Father, or in other words, the way to heaven. It’s only through that sacrifice that grace comes to usher you into the way of heaven.
Eph 2:10 shows that you don’t work your way into heaven. You work because you are already on your way. It says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath beforehand ordained that we should walk in them.”
So, you see, it’s not good works (law) that gets you into heaven, but as a born-again believer you do good works because you have the miracle worker dwelling in you and you are ALREADY on your way to heaven.
