The word of God can seem like a never ending maze of disappointments. But I'm here to tell you that God has a plan for you that will pluck you right up from the miry clay (things in life that pull you down like quicksand and keep you there or worse, drown out your faith) and set your feet on a solid rock of wisdom, and understanding, salvation for every area of your life and so much more. â
The Lordship of Jesus is abundance in every area of your life including your health and finances.
A few weeks ago, we studied about the Lordship of Jesus. Today, I want to give you a few other areas where making Jesus Lord of your life is very important and most beneficial to you as a believer. All the promises in the bible can be summed up into four basic categories.
Salvation: Acts 4: 12 tells us that salvation is only in the name of Jesus. You may need to read before and after scriptures on this. Look also at Acts 2:21, Acts 4: 12 and Mark 16: 16. To understand salvation, read my article here. Healing: 1 Peter 2: 24 is a very popular scripture to use when you need your healing. Consider also Psalms 103: 1 - 3 and Isaiah 55:11. Family Well Being: The first 14 verses in Deuteronomy 28 spell out family blessings. Who couldn't stand anymore blessings in our families, right. You know, the family is God's institution. And satan, your enemy, can't stand anything that represents God. That's why he fights to destroy our families so hard and so much. Stand up to him for your family. You may be the only Jesus your family see's. Stand up, we're here to help you. Prosperity: this covers every area of your life including financial prosperity. For a revelation on financial prosperity, study Proverbs 10: 22 and for general prosperity study 3 John 1: 2. Now, you need to know that you can't accomplish any of this without faith. So, I don't want to just drop you off right here, telling you these things are available to you without telling you how to get them. Faith: the word says in Hebrews 12:2 that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. Trust Jesus to set you on His path of prosperity for your life. You won't have to fight your way through a daunting maze only to give up because you can't seem to get anywhere. It will save you tons of heartache and it will build your faith as you go along. To help you get started on faith, here's a few more scriptures to look at: Romans 10:17. Be sure to drop by Hebrews chapter 11 because we call this the believers hall of fame. There is a solid rock for your feet to be on for every need in your life. Only faith in Jesus and allowing Him to put you on His divine path for you will get you there. Before I close, I want to remind you that going over these scriptures daily will help build your faith to the point that you will be unstoppable. And if you ever have any questions or you get stumped on anything about the word of God, please contact me. I will get back to you asap. â In His Service, âLa Donna But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2nd Peter 3: 18. This morning as I was doing some bible study, I was thinking about the folks that just don't know how to get started with God or His word. I can see them standing at a threshold of a sort and stopping right there because they just don't know what to do, what to say, where to go for help and in the end, if they don't get this kind of help, the enemy will keep that person defeated not only in salvation but in every other area of life, too. Is this you? Are you standing at such a door and want to get in on the things of God but don't know what to do or what to think about it? Do you feel left out or not good enough? Have you ever thought that you want to read the bible but don't know where to begin? If you answered yes, then my friend, please keep reading. There is a necessary beginning. You must realize that you need Jesus in your heart first and foremost. Without Jesus in your heart, He can not send you the Holy Ghost which will then guide you into all truth. I've written an article to help you understand salvation. You can read it here. If you have never told God that you believe in Jesus and that you want Him in your heart, please stop and go read that article. Ask Jesus to come into your heart, into your life then come back here. That article includes a little prayer to help you ask Jesus into your heart and life. From this point on, I'm going to assume you have asked Jesus into your heart but you're not getting anywhere. You still don't know what to do. For a structured approach, let's talk. Get a bible. I prefer King James but I also like using the Amplified. You might want to consider the American Standard Version. You want to be prepared so get a pen / pencil and a notepad. I personally use a planner I purchased from Mardels Christian book store and I use stickers from like the Happy Planner. Most any Wal-Mart will carry these now. If you prefer, use your pc. Every morning, I get by myself to study the word of God. I may start off on one thing and if God needs me to focus on something else, He'll show me. He'll do the same for you. I spend a little time praying. Again, I'll start off praying over something but if God needs me to pray over another situation or person, He'll show me. Yes, He'll do the same for you. Let me throw this in here. Dismiss all thoughts that overwhelm you about sorting out all the things of the bible. Dismiss thoughts that you'll never be able to get through all of it. When you feel overwhelmed about anything with God or His word, dismiss it. Got it? Why? Because in this life time, we will never exhaust the knowledge of God. Get it set in your mind that you will make it your life's work to study the word of God and don't worry about how little you know. Besides, God wants us in His word, and His presence every day. Getting in His word is how you spend time with God. It's how you get to know Him, understand Him, and love Him. It's how you got to know your friends or if you are married, spending time with him or her is how you got to know them well enough to say yes. You get to know God and understand Him by simply reading His word. The reason I had you study the article about salvation is for this reason right here. Romans 8:5 - 6 says: 5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. What this is saying to you and me is that we cannot understand the things of God without being Spiritually minded. Whatever state of being your heart is in, that's the things to which you'll attend, that's what you'll understand and believe in the most. Now, to continue, I post new studies each Monday. You can join me right here. Spend the week going over the scriptures in each post. Don't forget to ask God to join you and to open your heart to new truths each time you sit down to study His word. Once you have asked Jesus into your heart, ask for the Holy Spirit to come into your heart to bring illumination of God's word. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what you need to study. Then listen to your heart, not your head because you head will tell you a million other things you need to attend to. I'll close out with this note. Most main line denominations would have you stop at salvation. Let's read 2 Peter 3: 18 "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen" If we were supposed to stop at salvation, why would God give us an invitation, actually this is a commandment, to grow in grace and knowledge? If we are supposed to stop at salvation, the scriptures would have to read quite differently. It would have to say to grow in your knowledge of salvation and stop. Or it might would have said grow in your knowledge up to the point of salvation. There is so much to learn about God, His Kingdom, and He invites you to learn as much as you can and want to. I'll let you look this one up, Romans 15: 13. I'm here to answer any question you might have regarding your studies. Don't be afraid to ask. Just contact me, and after I've prayed I'll get back with you asap. Feel free to read other posts that I have. Visit the Word Study Center and by all means, check out my husbands blogs, especially if you are a man reading this. God has given him some awesome revelations about how to relate life to fishing and being outdoors, relating football positions to life, and so much more. Just remember, you don't have to wing this alone. Once you ask God to come into your heart, you will never be alone another day of your life. You'll never be without help for any situation you face because God will minister to you. And we are here for you, too. La Donna P.S. If you have just read this post and would be interested in a free mini course on salvation/faith walk with God to get you going, drop us a line. We'd love to hear from you. In His Service, La Donna Negative Gravity is anything that keeps you from walking on water, from doing the impossible, from moving mountains. Recently in doing a bible study, just trying to hear from the Lord, I heard Him say these words to me, Defy Negative Gravity. That was some very interesting words to me. Those words, when I think about them and apply them spiritually in the recent faith fight I had, set me free. It has the power to send me over the hump that's been holding me back. That hump was keeping me from sensing my own spiritual strength that took years to build in my spirit. I wanted to share more of this with you. Defying Negative Gravity involves identifying things that pull us down, that lead to depression, anxiety, keeping us in grief, anything that keeps us from having and enjoying the things of our God and from living a life of faith. Negative Gravity is anything that keeps you from walking on water, from doing the impossible, from moving mountains. If you are a born again child of God, you have everything in you necessary to pull down negative gravity, strongholds. Now that we know what negative gravity is, here's two key points on how to defy them. 1) Grow in Grace & Knowledge 2 Peter 3: 18- But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. This is simply you studying the word and learning more about God everyday. You can join me right here each week for new teaching and inspiration. Go through the older blog posts. Click the Encouragement tab for articles to help strengthen your faith in God. Faith comes by hearing so if you never give your spirit food by reading or hearing - taking in the truths of God, your faith won't grow at all. Stay with us. Everything we share with you here, we live it. We can tell you by our own personal experience that the more you work the Word of God in your life the more the Word will work for you to bring you to a good place the word says in Exodus 3:8. No matter what you face today, no matter the bondage's holding you back, God can bring you out of your Egypt and put you into a good and large place with blessings overflowing. Consider Psalms 31:8 and Psalms 40:2. 2) Strengthen Your Mind 1 Peter 1: 13- Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Keep your mind strong by believing only the things you read in the word of God. Anything else, toss it out of your mind immediately. This is not dismissing you from attending a good church. A good church is one that not only teaches you about the victories in Jesus but how to obtain and accomplish them. In closing, Romans 15:13 says: Now the God of hope FILL YOU with ALL JOY & PEACE in believing, that YE may ABOUND in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (emphasis mine) Have a great week. La Donna A good church is one that not only teaches you about the victories in Jesus but how to obtain and accomplish them. Live the life that God ordained for you. Choose to live in the blessings of God today! We’ve all read stories where Dad creates this mega business that he hopes to one day pass on to his son or his children. Basically that’s what God has done. He created the universe, put plants and animals on it and then created mankind and gave it all to us to take care of it.
And somewhere in the history of this thing, back before the creation story, one of God’s angels, Lucifer, now known as satan, was found to be full of pride and the word says that God vehemently threw him out of heaven to earth. He set up his evil worldly system designed to kill, steal, and destroy. Once God placed man here, in the Garden of Eden, God gave specific instructions on how to live. He told Adam and Eve to not eat the fruit of a particular tree (scripture does not say it was an apple) because it would expose man and all of creation to satan’s kingdom. And not just expose us to it, we would become subservient to it, owned by it, and trapped in it with no way out. As many of you know, Adam and Eve disobeyed God when they chose to believe satan’s side of the story. Using deception, he convinced Adam and Eve that it was actually okay to eat the fruit of that tree. That’s why we should never practice deception for any reason, especially to get our own way. Adam and Even could live here on this Earth and never see, touch, or taste of the kingdom of darkness - not even be bothered by it- if they had of just obeyed God. But they didn’t. At this very act of disobedience, many scholars believe that our precious planet tilted on its axis, We became subjected to earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, natural disasters, etc. For the very first time, the heart of man would taste of death both spiritually and naturally. Also in this act of disobedience, man became a lost soul. No longer did we have fellowship with God but we also lost our relationship with God as his children. So, how does Adam’s and Eve’s behavior affect us today? Consider Romans chapter 5 with emphasis on verses 12 and 19. Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Lets look at another verse. Romans 3: 23 says “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” That means we don’t look much like God in our spirit man, we don’t act or think like him either. So, you see, through their sin of disobedience, it caused all of us to be born with sinful nature, a nature that rebels against God, no longer children of God, no longer citizens of his glorious kingdom - partakers of all that His kingdom offers the born again. We may not can see satan or his kingdom but we witness its destruction everyday: a loved one dying, school shootings, our children being doped up on drugs, divorce, starvation, poverty, sickness and disease. All these are brought about by the hand of satan himself. Does man have to live like this now and forever? Are we doomed to this kind of life with no way out? The answer is no, man does not have to live like this or be in bondage to the kingdom of darkness. Because of God’s great love for us, he had a plan ready and waiting. That plan was to give us a choice. God’s kingdom has been viewed, by many, as sort of some kind of dictatorship - it’s my way or the highway. But that is simply not the truth. I hope at this point, I really have your attention. Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. You see, grace is your answer to all your problems. Meet every problem with grace and watch things change for the better for you and your loved ones. How does this affect our loved ones? Well, your family loves you and it does their heart good to see you doing well. Mom's, we are the strength of our families. We can only be strong in the Lord, co-rule and co-reign with our husbands and God by understanding what grace is, how it affects us, and how we are to apply it to our lives. Before I close, give me your ear for a few more minutes. Grace is not a license to sin. Rather it is your strength and right to say no to sin, to choose not to be a part of it, to not touch the things of darkness. Let that sink it, think about that this week. Grace is your right to choose the blessings of God and subsequently to refuse the curses of satan. Choose wisely, choose carefully. Join me next week for more insight into God's grace. |
