A while back I heard a prophetic message from Dr. Bill Hamon that resonated with my spirit. He called it the Joshua Generation.
The reason it hit me so was it was already in my heart that a great move of God was on the way and even though I was in my 70’s, I still believed I would play a part in it. God has been moving to restore revelations that have been lost over the centuries. Must has been lost by religion and man’s thinking. Salvation by grace was replaced with salvation by works. Healing was lost, the baptism of the Holy Spirit was lost, gifts from our Trinity were lost, etc, etc. Acts 3: 19-21 reads, “Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you; whom the heaven must receive (hold onto) until the times of restitution (restoration) of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.” Since the 1500’s, God has been in the restoration business. This has been called by many different “moves”. We have the Protestant, Holiness, Pentecostal, Full Gospel. Latter Rain, Charismatic, Prophetic, and Apostolic. Each “movement” has restored a different aspect of true Christianity that has been lost for generations. Notice that the scripture we just read was in Acts, nothing had been lost. This was a prophetic word for the future. Currently, we are in a transitional phase between moves. Joshua chapter 1 will give you a glimpse of the passing of one move and the beginning of a new move. The last move can be equated with Moses and the new move with Joshua and Caleb. Look back over the last few years and recall the mighty men and women of God who have died: Kenneth Hagin, Oral Roberts, Lester Sumral, T. L. & Daisy Osborn, and Dereck Prince to name a few. These represent the Moses generation that is passing away. Now, let me ask you a question. How old was Moses at his death? He was 120 years old. The Pentecostal / Spirit Filled movement is approximately 120 years old!!!. Many prophets, as well as me, believe that the greatest move of all times is in the early stages right now. I believe this early stage will be called the “Joshua Generation.” This will be a preparatory move to get the mighty Army of God fully equipped and activated for the final move which will be called “Harvest.” The reason this phase will be called the “Joshua Generation” is that the older generation will play an important part. And by older, I’m saying the 50+ age group. In the past when people who had been active in the church they had a tendency to feel like it’s time to slow down and let some of the younger people take over and they just quit. It’s not going to be that way this time. God is finally going to have a move that will be “tri-generational.” Have you ever wondered why God called Himself “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Jacob?” God’s ways are to use the wisdom of the older generation, the resources of the middle generation and the zeal and power of the younger generation. The younger generation needs to be fully equipped with all the weapons of their warfare, the middle generation needs to learn how to give and the older generation needs to discover how to mentor. It’s going to take ALL of us, working together as a team to WIN the last day war with the kingdom of darkness. The greatest harvest the world has ever seen is coming and it will take every single believer to accomplish this. The Lord told me the 50+ ers’ would mentor the young stallions or the young warriors. My response was “Lord, I don’t know too many 50+ ers’ that know how to be a warrior much less mentor a warrior.” His matter of fact response was “teach them!” From that point on I have had a zeal towards the 50+ ers’. We have a big job, let’s get busy learning everything we can and become doers, so that we can fulfill God’s call on our lives, for this hour that we are currently in. Doc.
