Healing comes the same way that salvation does. Romans 10:9-10, says, 9) “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
The word saved is the Greek word Sozo. This word has been watered down to mean only that you get to go to heaven when you die. This word actually means so much more than that. It’s an all inclusive word that means salvation, healing, deliverance, and prosperity. So, if you get saved by believing and confessing, you also get healed the same way. The kicker is that you have to believe it. Most churches don’t preach that healing is for today. They concentrate on getting you in heaven. On healing, you hear it either has to be his special will to heal you or he doesn’t heal today at all. Neither one of those are in the Bible! Faith comes one way. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”1 Peter 2:24 says, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.” Jesus went to the cross one time to provide salvation to ALL that would receive it [as a truth], so in like manner, he went to the whipping post one time to provide healing for ALL that would receive it also. Go back to 1 Peter 2:24 and notice that is says …were healed. Most people try believing that God is going to heal them. That doesn’t work. God has already healed them through the 39 stripes that Jesus took for our healing. Just like salvation has already been provided, healing is waiting to be received. Ephesians 2:8-9, 8) “For by grace are ye saved (Sozo) through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9) not of works, lest any man should boast.” Grace (charis) means an unmerited gift. It’s something you cannot earn; it’s a free gift for the undeserving. Also, remember Sozo means saved, healed, delivered, and prospered. Therefore, healing is a free gift to be received through faith. You can’t get good enough to earn it, you can’t work hard enough to get it. It is a gift for God’s kids. Now, how do you pray? First, you don’t speak to God about your problem. You speak to your problem about your God and what he has done through Jesus. David did this with the giant. He didn’t tell God how big the giant was; he told the giant how big his God was. Mark 11:23-24 says, 23) For verily I say unto you. That whosoever shall say unto this mountain (your problem), be thou removed, and be cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24) Therefore, I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when you pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” In closing, I’ll give you an example of how to pray. “Father, in Jesus name, I thank you that Jesus has provided everything I have need of. I speak to this sickness (name some symptoms, describe the pain, etc) and I tell it to go from me in Jesus’ name. For by his stripes I am already healed, therefore I declare myself well in Jesus name. Amen (so be it). Many times you may need to repeat this until you see what you are praying for manifests. As you speak this over and over again, you will see faith begin to rise up in you and take what you have need of. God is a good Father and he wants you well. Doc
